The act of “trafficking” is defined under s. 2 of the Act.  Trafficking, according to this definition, means:

(a) to sell, administer, give, transfer, transport, send or deliver the substance,

(b) to sell an authorization to obtain the substance, or

(c) to offer to do anything mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b).

In 2012, the government introduced potential mandatory minimum jail sentences for certain types of Drug Trafficking charges.  As a result, these cases ought to be handled with great care.
